I had to go for an MRI today and they strap your arms to your sides and stick headphones on you before they push you into the tunnel thing.  The music choice was a largely inoffensive 60s compilation and I didn't mind listening to Pretty Woman or My Guy.  I'm not claustrophobic at all and didn't mind the experience but almost pressed the emergency "get me out of here!" button when Fleetwood Mac's Albatross made an appearance.  Fortunately they finished and wheeled me out before it had been on for long and I wasn't at the point of gibbering/needing a wee because of the seashore sound effects.

I found it quite relaxing but can understand why someone with claustrophobia could start to freak out!

I'm sure in some hospitals it all looks quite space age... in the old Victorian hospital wing I was in it looked more like HG Wells.  

I had a bit of a crazed moment in the supermarket and the weekend ahead will see me listening to (and probably dancing about to) 100 Eighties School Days hits.  Bros, S'Express and Marilyn here I come!  

There are 5 discs of 80s music and the tracks are loosely grouped together by "type".  I've made it through the Salt n Pepa and Rick Astley genres and just have the last disc to listen to - XTC, Iggy Pop and The Jam are included and I think they've saved the best for last.

Good lord no - I picked up the Soulsavers album yesterday because Mark Lanegan sings on about 8 of the tracks but on first listen there are only a couple that I really like.

Is it me or has it been a bit of a pants year for new music?
