Aha - I like it...the fact that you at least tolerate me talking about him!

According to someone on another board I'm suffering from PRD - post Rufus depression.  Shocked

D'you think I could get time off work for that...?

Have to say I prefer his sister,Martha.Musically speaking that is-can't say I fancy either of them....in fact I'm struggling to think of any musicians I actually fancy...jeez I'm getting old.

The biggest problem I have with Rufus is the way he seems to slur everything he sings-great musician, great songs, but I just want to yell  "Enunciate boy!" and rap his knuckles with a ruler. Theres no hope for me now is there?I might just as well book my place in the retirement home...where did I put that zimmer frame??

Agree with you. Great voice but incredibly lazy singer.

Glad I'm not the only one who found that irritating.  He can enunciate; maybe he thinks it's cute or stylish or summat.  Lazy, nasal drawling from someone who sets such store by opera and its singers.  Well, I've pretty much gotten past it & forgiven him, but once in awhile I'd like to pop him in the head still.   Wink

Martha I find very hard to listen to so I don't.  It's her voice.  Not her fault and no doubt she's quite talented, but the sound of her voice gets on my nerves, sorry to say.

Thats what I love about music-its so hard to explain to someone why you don't like a certain artist-or why you do.Sometimes someone will say "if you like so and so listen to this" and I don't like it-and they can't understand why.!!
Been trying to get into Cosmic rough riders-just can't do it..no l dont know why I can't!
So I love Marthas voice but can't quite get into Rufus..haven't given up yet though...

I got into the Cosmics newest album because it reminded me of Justin's voice a little bit.

I know what you all mean about Rufus and his slurring and I think you do forget about it after a while.

His voice is so amazing that you can't help but forgive him for it.  Grin

The first time I heard him sing live (was at the Barbican) he opened with a song in French called L'Absence (the one on the Fillmore DVD) and I had one of those jaw-dropping moments as his voice filled the Barbican.  I just thought omigod how fantastic does he sound - I think that was the moment my obsession started!  Smiley

Yes, but it's bordering on a sin that he is not using his voice to its potential. He really could be doing so much more with it.

Bordering on sin, yes.  With that voice.

Aw Cliffy, we got to find something to talk about, since the Del boys have abandoned the field.   Wink
