Justin & Peter performing "You'll Always Walk Alone" on the show... Susi posted another link on a different thread but it seems that image and sound are better here!

Watched the show and was a bit disappointed.  Not that he didn't sing well or that I don't like the song - but it wasn't an appearance to attract the attention of new fans, really.  For those of us who "know" his writing and his style it was fine, but surely a livelier song and a bit more sprucing were in order for a national TV appearance.  Frustrating.
Does he deliberately hobble himself?

You'll always walk alone is without a doubt one of the most beautiful songs on the new record - and it was a very good choice and a stunning performance and I'm sure he found some new fans.
I think it was the BEST choice.

Maybe something a bit more upbeat would have been a good idea. I dunno, I don't think that there's anything that Justin can do that will really win him over lots of new fans--as great as his last two releases have been. Maybe that's why he did a slow song?

more upbeat? ... no, Walk alone is such an outstanding song. A performance with drums included like the cd version would have been better and a performance on Letterman. but this choice was not given to him.
I have about ten ideas what he could do.

I'm not sure livelier will sell for him any better than slow and thoughtful. This is the best song on the album by a long stretch and it's a lovely performance.

If this doesn't get people into him, there's just no hope.
