I don't need fancy technology to ignore people and I can ignore you so there!!

(I was nearly doing it then, but not quite...)

ooh I have a question:
If someone is ignoring someone else, lets say A is ignoring B. Then C quotes B in one of her posts, will A be able to see the quote or not?
If so they may accidentally end up reading something they were trying to ignore. What would happen then? Does the website self destruct or something???

Both are dependent on the message board software being used.

Decent software (Actually even below standard software these days) will 'know' to block quotes if one uses the provided auto-quote feature....

I don't think I've seen a feature added that will tell someone, "You are being ignored by such-and-such member."

I can't imagine why anyone would code such an app.....

Yes, you'd see the ignored person in the quote, I believe.

So this is the adult version of clamping your hands over your ears and saying "I see your mouth moving but I don't hear you - nah nah nah"?

even people on here that can't stand each other seem to cope fine with seeing the others posts, don't think it's needed myself.

Better to have a feature and not need it, than to need a feature, and not have it.....

Many here have talked about some few whose boorish behaviour serves only to drive away new posters.  A readily available, comprehensive Ignore Feature (As available on most other message boards)  might help keep problem posters off newbies, and allow the ranks here to swell a bit....

It's ironic that you push so hard for the feature when your own website says (regarding your "offensive posts" on the forums you frequent):
Quote:
I accept NO responsibility for anything you might find offensive however... Fairly warned be thee says I.... Aaaarrrrrg!
