I dunno, I feel a bit slapped, since the current climate (political or otherwise) that has made him "tired" of America is not my doing.  He certainly wants us to buy his new album, though.  The tour & appearance schedule is starting to look mad--by the time I get to see him in Atlanta, is he going to be exhausted or bored and just phoning it in?

But of course I shall go and find out.  And buy the new album.   Cool

Omigod, I could always appreciate that Rufus is quite a looker, but he's on Jonathan Ross at the moment talking, and it's nearly as bad as hearing David Beckham talk for the first time, he doesn't sound like I thought he would!  Shocked

Sorry he does absolutely nothing for me at all.  Although I thought his Judy Garland thing was OK.

The Judy Garland tribute show will be released in September as a CD and DVD!  Yay!  Smiley

Rufus is everywhere this week - Jonathan Ross and the breakfast show this morning with Andrew Marr.  Isn't technology great...the files have already been made available on his message board which is great as I missed seeing him on Wossy. (It didn't sound too obviously 'Woofus Wainwright' when he introduced him either!  Grin)

There's a really good write up in The Sun (! shock horror).  Read it at this link if you're interested.

Sun Article

God knows what some Sun readers might make of him...!!!!  I'm not sure he's going to get the huge mainstream success he'd like with some of these songs but there are some absolute fantastic tracks on there (a few weird ones as well).

The Observer has the new CD as their CD of the week.

I remembered who I thought he sounded like when he talks - Janice in Friends, the girl Chandler used to date with the whiney voice and annoying laugh.  He really sounds like a toned down version of her! Smiley

Ladies, keep listening to Release the Stars and give it a bit more time because it is fantastic live!

It was a great show last night.  I wasn't sure if anything could top the Glasgow show but this did it.  The venue was great (The Old Vic) and really suited him.  A beautiful old theatre with fab acoustics.  He sang one song without a microphone to test it out and it sounded great.

He played all of the new album and a few old favourites plus a couple of the Judy Garland songs (his voice was pretty amazing on those...as it was throughout the whole evening).  I'm not going to give a full review on here - I'm sure you'll read better ones on the Rufus site anyway.

The only song I don't like on the album is Tulsa and his live performance didn't win me over either.  Crap song basically.

The encore was hilarious.  He sat wearing a dressing gown on a chair centre stage and put on diamond earrings and a ring, applied bright red lipstick and then stood up and was surrounded by the band (now wearing tuxedos) while he disrobed and then was revealed in full 'Judy' outfit with a black jacket, hat and black tights.  He's got the most amazing legs!!  They then went into a full dance routine of 'Get Happy' - great fun.
