London II

It is always a bit wierd returning to the same venue the next day during a tour. Not least because every one on the crew and often the band as well have taken the opportunity of the lie in offered by a late afternoon stage call to get off their faces the night before. This was no exception and a few people including myself needed to be well dosed on nurofen plus before todays mercifully short soundcheck could proceed.

The show tonight didn’t seem quite as vibey as last nights but whether down to a more contemplative audience or my lack of sleep I will never know. The lovely, lovely string section sounded even better tonight. If only we could do every show with them.

Thankfully tonights aftershow was maginally more restrained than last nights. But a couple of guiness are needed to put iron in the soul and steel one for a Sunday night in Croydon. And its my birthday tomorrow.
