Friday night back in Manhattan after another day of drums and computers. Is there a job left in the world that doesn’t involve hours of looking at a computer screen? There was time not so long ago when studio engineering was all about reels of two inch tape and chinagraph pencils and razor blades. Poor Gordon has spent the best part of a week grappling with the myriad possibilities and intricacies of computer editing. It is an elaborate process but the raw material is Marks brilliant drumming and the end result is sounding fantastic. We are taking the weekend off and next week we will get into the fun stuff with guitars and anything else we can get good noises out of; Andy always manages to amaze us with the unexpected and wondrous noises he manages to produce in the studio. We have that to look forward to on Monday morning…..
